Welcome to The Three Six Challenge Website

The Three Six Challenge Annual Charity Events…

The 36 Challenge is an annual charity event raising money for the benevolent fund for our local regiment the Maidstone 36 Engineers.  We now added The Boxing Challenge to the 36 events calander and hope it will also become an annual event.

Paul Alcock the centre manager of The Mall Maidstone created the Three Six Challenge in 2007 with the help of dedicated team of volunteers and the good will and sponsorship of businesses in The Maidstone and Mid-Kent area.

Paul wanted to give something back to those that have fallen by creating a welfare fund for the families of those lost in service.  Enlisting the help of Lee Bennett of Maidstone Town Centre Management and many local companies, volunteers, team entrants and sponsors The Three Six Challenge was born.

Come back soon to find out about our next event.

Boxing Event for The 36 Royal Engineers on December 6th 2010

Tuesday 6th December 2011 – A night not to miss!!

People listen intently to the news of our brave servicemen on active service abroad.  Perhaps it feels closer to home here in Maidstone when we hear of a loss of one of someone serving in the armed forces.

We wonder if the next time it will be one of the lads from the 36 Royal Engineers, based here in Maidstone, of which the Ghurkas are an integral part.

The Maidstone Town Centre Management and The Mall Chequers shopping centre in Maidstone are leading the local business community in its support of the Regiment’s Welfare Fund and, as Chairman of the TCM and General Manager of The Mall Chequers, Paul Alcock, says: “We hope that the general public feel the same way as us.”

On Tuesday 6th December, Maidstone Businesses are staging a black tie boxing event.

“We will be featuring 10 bouts involving boxers from the Corps of Engineers. Although these soldiers are not professional boxers, I am sure they will give you a good night’s entertainment”, said Paul Alcock.

As part of the night, those making up tables for the event, will be served with a traditional Ghurka Curry and the bar will be open throughout the evening for suitable refreshment.

“As well as making it an entertaining evening the main aim is to raise as much money as we can for the 36 Royal Engineers Welfare Fund, said Paul.

The tickets have sold out but you can still donate to the cause. Donations can be made to paul.alcock@themall.co.uk or by ringing 01622 678777.

The Regiment’s welfare fund is controlled by the Commanding Officers and is used to assist bereaved families and injured soldiers. This fund provides the extras that need paying for and the demand is growing annually.
